Natalie Edwards-Moss
Counselling & Psychotherapy

I have been working as a counsellor since qualifying in 2017. I have an additional Level 6 specialist qualification in working with children and young people.
I work integratively, but I do so from a philosophically person-centered standpoint, in a relaxed yet respectful environment.
I can help restore past issues and facilitate positive change, often in as few as six sessions, using a Solution Focused/CBT approach that focuses on overcoming life obstacles and moving away from feeling 'stuck'. I can help you with building confidence, resilience and focusing on new achievements and becoming goal oriented.
I work creatively, incorporating elements of Mindfulness based stress reduction and different somatic (mind/body) practices within the session, if appropriate and agreeable to the client.
I am also open to the use of visualisation and art therapy techniques, and I am a big advocate for outdoor therapy sessions.
Walking/talking therapy combined with being outside, enjoying nature, exposure to sunlight, all these things can be calming and relaxing and can also help with sleep problems. Movement in general can be very useful to us when we’re processing difficult feelings and life experiences. Walk and talk in person can also be useful for people who find eye contact a bit too intense. It can be useful for people who feel like always being in a closed room might be a bit too much. Overall, moving around outdoors in nature just helps us feel more present and at ease in our body, reducing stress and releasing feel-good endorphins.
I am a qualified, experienced Counsellor/Psychotherapist running a small private practice in Ashford, Kent, since 2022.
I co-run a meet/talk/walk wellbeing support group as an alternative care modality that bridges the gap between group therapy and a peer support group for specific life circumstances, such as grief, isolation, long-term illness, or redundancy, unemployment or retirement.
As well as being a counsellor, since 2019 I have operated as a Guardian for Cambridge Guardian Angels, hosting and supporting Japanese students studying in the UK. I am also a qualified TEFL teacher and am experienced in hosting and teaching foreign students in my home, as well as at a private language school in Kent.
As a qualified counsellor and accredited member of the NCPS and MBACP Registered (Reg: 363417), I have undergone extensive Safeguarding training (regularly updated in line with best practice.)
I am fully insured and possess an up to date Enhanced DBS Certificate.
I have comprehensive understanding of pastoral care issues and support measures, based on many years of working in both Further Education and secondary and primary school settings, working with individuals with learning difficulties, social and emotional vulnerabilities, communication and mental health issues.
Prior to training as a counsellor I spent many years working in the media, mostly within the TV industry.
